Vasseur: “I don’t keep track of how many points each team has in the championship!”
Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur has said he is not paying attention to points in the constructors’ championship as the title fight draws to a close.Ferrari currently sits second in the constructors’ championship, 36 points behind leaders McLaren.
Red Bull is in third place, 13 points behind Ferrari, with three rounds of the season remaining.
Ferrari had a difficult weekend in Brazil last year, with Charles Leclerc crossing the line in fifth place while teammate Carlos Sainz crashed into the barriers.
But heading into the final races that will decide the championship, Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur insisted he was not concerned with points gaps in the standings and preferred to progress race by race.
“We have had the same approach for months, we want to focus on whatever race is on that weekend because that is the best attitude for me,” Vasseur said.
“We’re just focusing on what we can do and not trying to calculate the standings.”
“To be honest, I don’t remember who is on what points in the constructors’ championship standings at the moment and I want to continue with that approach,” he said.
