Verstappen: “I Was Just Trying to Navigate the Turn”

Max Verstappen addressed questions regarding his battle with Lando Norris and his driving style.

The three-time world champion stated that while racing in Formula 1, he often relies more on his instincts than the rules, admitting he doesn’t overthink regulations during races.

“I might as well carry the rulebook in the car with me. It has grown quite a bit over the years. I act intuitively, but of course, some rules stay in my mind,” he explained. When asked about his battle with Norris, the Dutch driver remarked, “It’s really impressive how people try to read my mind. Of course, I was just trying to navigate the turn.”

He added, “We both said we wanted to race hard against each other.”

Reflecting on his car’s performance and the season so far, Verstappen noted, “The second part of Austin was challenging. I experienced a loss of grip on the front tires, which made braking difficult. We had a positive weekend, but there’s still work to be done.”

“We need to be strong in race pace, and we are working on that. In many races where we won in the middle of the season, we actually didn’t have the fastest car, but we optimized everything to get the best results,” he concluded.
