Will Viktor Gyökeres Follow Ruben Amorim to Manchester United?
The manager of Manchester United, Rúben Amorim, has denied reports that he will bring Viktor Gyökeres, the top striker for Sporting CP, to Old Trafford during the January transfer window. Amorim made a suggestion that such a transfer would be unlikely when asked about a possible move.
In response to Manchester United’s interest in Gyökeres, Amorim said, “Gyökeres is very tough to acquire and costs €100 million (£83.7m). In January, I will not be picking up any Sporting players. Despite Gyökeres’ strong performances, his remarks imply that a mid-season move for the Swedish forward could not be in the cards.
