WSL Agrees New Sponsorship Deal with Barclays

The Women’s Super League (WSL) has secured a significant new sponsorship deal with Barclays worth £45 million over three years. This agreement, which also covers the Women’s Championship, marks a major boost for women’s football, with the annual investment amounting to £15 million, double the previous arrangement.

This deal, the biggest in domestic women’s football, is the first major contract secured by Women’s Professional Leagues Limited (WPLL), the new organization overseeing the WSL. Barclays, which became the WSL’s title sponsor in 2019, will continue its role, reinforcing its commitment to growing women’s football.

This renewal aligns with the increasing popularity of the WSL, which has seen a rise in viewership and attendance.

Barclays has also extended its partnership with the Premier League, securing a new four-year deal, further cementing its influence in English football.
