Yuksel Yildirim Makes Bold Claims About Fenerbahce at Samsunspor

Samsunspor President Yuksel Yildirim made striking statements ahead of their match against Fenerbahce in the 9th week of the Trendyol Super League. Speaking to HT Spor, Yildirim noted the significant interest from fans for the upcoming Fenerbahce match, stating, “A match will be played on Sunday. There is incredible excitement in the city. The tickets have sold out. We will play in front of full stands. Not all spectators are coming from Samsun; people are coming from all over the country to watch both Samsunspor and Fenerbahce. Fenerbahce coming to the city is a privilege for us and an opportunity. World stars will come to this Anatolian city.”

Yildirim also revealed that fans would hold a procession from the city center to the stadium, saying, “Samsunspor fans will have their own procession. They want to walk from the center of the city to the club building. Who can stop this? Two weeks ago, Fenerbahce fans also held a procession in Kadikoy to call for Ali Koc’s resignation.”

On the pressure Fenerbahce might face, Yildirim commented, “Fenerbahce will come here under stress. We all know that if they cannot beat us, it will shake things up at Fenerbahce.”

Wishing for a game that would not be marred by refereeing controversies, Yildirim expressed his hopes for an exciting match, saying, “I believe it will be a good match. Both sides will come out to win. I expect the ball to stay in play for a long time since both teams want to win. I want a match where the referee is not talked about. Let’s only talk about the beautiful plays. We want to win the match. What I hope for is a 2-1 victory; hopefully, it will be that way. If we win, we will maintain our second place. If it ends in a draw and Besiktas wins, we will be in third place. We are starting to make some mathematical calculations. We have dreams too.”
