Zak Brown and Christian Horner Make Peace Mid-Flight

Zak Brown and Christian Horner Make Peace Mid-Flight, Donning Matching Pajamas

In a humorous twist, McLaren CEO Zak Brown and Red Bull team principal Christian Horner have put their recent tensions aside – and did so in the most Formula 1 way possible: 30,000 feet in the air, while wearing matching airline pajamas. The two were on the same flight back to the UK following the Singapore Grand Prix and used the opportunity to smooth over their disagreements regarding a fastest lap controversy.

“Peace in F1 Restored”

The lighthearted moment was captured by Brown, who posted a photo of the duo cozying up in first class attire. “Peace in F1 has been restored on flight home,” Brown joked in his caption, hinting at the ongoing rivalry between the teams despite the reconciliation. “Where’s Netflix when you need them? But the battle will continue on track. What an awesome sport!” The comment was a playful nod to the intense competition between McLaren and Red Bull, which often takes center stage in Formula 1’s “Drive to Survive” series.

The Fastest Lap Fiasco

Tensions flared after the Singapore Grand Prix when McLaren’s Lando Norris was denied a Grand Slam—pole position, race win, and fastest lap—after Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo swooped in and claimed the fastest lap in what may be his final F1 race. The drama only added fuel to the ever-competitive atmosphere between McLaren and Red Bull, but it seems the two team bosses have found common ground, at least for now.

Rivalry Lives On

While this mid-air truce shows the off-track camaraderie in Formula 1, Brown and Horner’s teams will undoubtedly continue their fierce rivalry on the track. As the season heads into its closing stages, fans can expect plenty more fireworks between the two iconic teams.
