Brentford’s Young Star Yunus Emre Konak: “The Fans Love Me”

Yunus Emre Konak, a Turkish footballer playing for English Premier League team Brentford, stated that he will prove himself by getting more playing time.

The 18-year-old player, who turned professional last season at his youth club Sivasspor, made the move to the Premier League after an impressive performance in 17 matches during the first half of the Turkish Super Lig.

Just one day after turning 18, Yunus Emre transferred to Brentford for a fee of approximately 4.5 million euros. Unfortunately, his career in England started off unlucky; after suffering an injury during training, he tore his tendon and was sidelined for an extended period.

After successfully completing his rehabilitation, Yunus Emre made his debut for Brentford in the second round of the English League Cup, coming on as a substitute in the 89th minute of the match against Colchester United, which they won 1-0.

This season, Yunus Emre Konak has played a total of 5 matches, including 3 in the Premier League and 2 in the English League Cup, spending a total of 45 minutes on the field.

Yunus Emre Konak stated that he faced a serious injury after transferring to Brentford but has had a positive adaptation and recovery process. He remarked, “My adaptation and injury process went very well. My career in England is progressing nicely. I have a good relationship with the coach, and he has started to play me. I believe I will get more playing time. I have confidence in myself, and I give my best in training.”
