Fenerbahçe Nears Transfer of Sassuolo’s French Star Armand Laurienté
Fenerbahçe is close to finalizing the transfer of Sassuolo’s French winger Armand Laurienté, outpacing four Serie A clubs in the process. According to Italian media outlet Sky Sport Italia, José Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe is on the verge of securing Laurienté’s transfer. In a report by Gianluca Di Marzio, it was stated that the yellow-dark blue team is the strongest candidate to sign Laurienté from Sassuolo.
Outpacing Serie A Clubs
Serie A teams Como, Torino, Parma, and Cagliari were also interested in Laurienté, but Fenerbahçe has largely secured the transfer by offering higher bids than all these clubs.
One of Sassuolo’s Key Players
It is reported that Fenerbahçe has made higher offers to both Sassuolo and Laurienté, and the official announcement of the transfer is imminent. Laurienté joined Sassuolo from LF Lorient in August 2022 for 10 million euros. Sky Sport Italia has not yet disclosed the amount offered by Fenerbahçe. The French player, whose contract with Sassuolo ends in 2027, scored seven goals and provided six assists in his first Serie A season, and five goals and four assists in his second season.
