George Evans to Miss ‘Months’ After Ankle Surgery

Phil Parkinson, the manager of Wrexham, revealed that George Evans will have surgery on his ankle, which will keep the player out for a long time. The team owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney has taken a big hit with this illness.

The 29-year-old player hurt himself during Wrexham’s 1-0 loss to Stevenage Town on Tuesday. Parkinson, the manager, called what happened a “huge blow” to the team. Evans will miss “months” of play because of it. The defender, who used to play for Millwall, is getting ready for surgery and a long healing time.

Parkinson told The Athletic, “All we can do is get the surgery done as soon as possible and make sure he gets the best rehab possible afterward.” Since the surgeon won’t know how bad the damage is until they look inside, they don’t want to give a specific date until after the surgery. But it will take months with George.”

What’s Wrexham Going to Do?

Losing a player to illness is never good, but Wrexham might be able to handle it better this time. Only one of Evans’ five League One games this season has been a start. He hasn’t been a reliable starter. Also, Wrexham is currently in second place in the table after playing well in their first nine games.

Even though the Red Dragons are in a good spot, Evans’ absence is still a loss, and the team will definitely hope that their playmaker gets better quickly and completely.
