Sasa Obradovic on Furkan Korkmaz and Transfer Plans

Monaco head coach Sasa Obradovic addressed the media after his team’s victory over Olimpia Milano in the opening week of the 2024/25 EuroLeague season. Obradovic discussed the challenges posed by the absence of Nick Calathes, who is sidelined due to injury, and the need for reinforcements.

“We need to make an addition to the team. We know Calathes will return, but right now we are struggling without him. It’s clear that we need a transfer. We need a combo guard,” Obradovic stated.

The coach also commented on Furkan Korkmaz, who left the game in the third quarter after suffering a leg injury: “We definitely need players in the rotation. We don’t know the exact condition of Furkan right now.”

Obradovic concluded by emphasizing the difficulties faced at the guard position without Calathes: “When Calathes is not available, we struggle at the guard position. Mike James still needs to regain his game rhythm. We have to be cautious with him as well since he only started training a week ago. You saw today how different things are when Mike is on the court.”
