Earlier, Alcaraz teamed up with Casper Ruud for a men’s doubles victory against Fritz and Ben Shelton, continuing his strong Sunday performance. Alcaraz’s triumph followed a crucial comeback by teammate Alexander Zverev, who defeated Frances Tiafoe, 6-7 (6), 7-5, 10-5, after Tiafoe came within two games of winning a third consecutive Laver Cup for Team World.

The weekend began with Team World holding an 8-4 lead after a strong Day 2 performance, where they won three of four matches, including Tiafoe’s 3-6, 6-4, 10-5 victory over Daniil Medvedev. On Sunday, Shelton added to that lead with a 6-7 (6), 7-5, 10-7 win over Medvedev, positioning Team World for a potential victory. However, Zverev’s resilience and Alcaraz’s dominance sealed the comeback for Team Europe, clinching the Laver Cup in dramatic fashion.
