Coach Who Eliminated Galatasaray Has Been Dismissed
Patrick Rahmen, the head coach of Swiss team Young Boys, has parted ways with the club after eliminating Galatasaray from the UEFA Champions League.
This season, Young Boys eliminated Galatasaray in the Champions League playoff round but has struggled with consecutive poor results in the league. Therefore, Patrick Rahmen’s contract was terminated.
Young Boys officially announced the separation from Rahmen, stating that Joel Magnin has been appointed as the interim head coach. Joel Magnin was previously in charge of Young Boys’ U21 team.
Although Young Boys defeated Galatasaray in both matches of the Champions League playoff round, they lost their first league match 3-0 at home to Aston Villa and their second match 5-0 away to Barcelona.
Struggling to achieve the desired results in the Swiss League, Young Boys currently sits at the bottom of the standings with 6 points after 9 weeks.
