HONDA AND ALPINE FINED
Following a breach agreement between the FIA and the two manufacturers, Honda will pay a fine of $600,000, while Alpine will pay $400,000.
The FIA report stated that Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) did not report accurately because the report included costs that were excluded or adjusted under the budget cap. Alpine received a smaller fine for delaying the submission of documents and “missing relevant information,” according to the FIA.
Since both violations were minor and the FIA believed that both companies acted in good faith, the federation offered a breach agreement to resolve the matter without further escalation. As a result, both manufacturers accepted the offer and chose to pay the fines.
In 2023, manufacturers were required to operate under a budget cap for the first time. While all manufacturers stayed within the budget cap, Alpine and Honda were penalized in September for procedural violations. Additionally, all ten teams complied with the 2023 F1 budget cap.
