Fight Breaks Out at Besiktas Congress
During the Besiktas Ordinary Administrative and Financial General Assembly Meeting, a fight broke out, leading to flying chairs and fistfights.
The 2024 Ordinary Administrative and Financial General Assembly Meeting of Besiktas Club took place at the ICC Istanbul Congress Center Harbiye Auditorium.
Former president Ahmet Nur Cebi entered the hall with a large group. At this moment, some members next to Cebi applauded, prompting a reaction from other members and escalating tensions. Although Cebi took his place in the hall, the tension persisted.
Meanwhile, club member Ismail Cevahir took the stage and pointed his finger at the general assembly chair while saying something. Club president Hasan Arat, vice president Huseyin Yucel, and some members in the hall reacted to Cevahir.
After Cevahir left the stage, a scuffle broke out among members, turning into a fistfight. During the fight, some members tried to hit the opposing side with chairs.
The fight was difficult to calm down despite the intervention of those who stepped in, and the congress continued afterward.
