Former Rockets Player: “Alperen Sengun is Like a Baby Nikola Jokic”
Former Houston Rockets player Chandler Parsons recently compared Alperen Sengun to Nikola Jokic on the Run It Back program with Danny Green. During their discussion, they addressed the ongoing debate about who should be the leader between Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun.
Parsons stated, “Alperen Sengun needs to be the leader of this team. You can’t compare him to someone you’d pick up in free agency or the draft. Alperen is like a baby Jokic. You can run the offense through him; he’s a humble star. He’s the ideal choice to lead a young and talented team, and he’s easy to coach.”
He continued, “Jalen Green is a fantastic player, a great scorer, but you can find players like him in the league for the right price. Players like Alperen are rare. The Rockets need to build their future around him.”
Danny Green agreed with Parsons’ perspective, adding, “For me, Alperen Sengun is the next Nikola Jokic. I love Jalen Green; he’s improved this season, but they need to figure out how to play together. I expect this Rockets team to become very dangerous in the coming years.”
