Andy Murray Loves Retirement!

Andy Murray on Retirement: “It’s the Complete Opposite of What I Expected”

Andy Murray spoke about his retirement and explained that it was ‘the opposite’ of what he expected. The 37-year-old triple Grand Slam champion officially retired after the Paris Olympics in August, ending his 19-year career. The legendary tennis player stated that he loves retirement.

Murray could not achieve the performance he wanted after his surgery in 2019. He also retired this year.

Murray:

‘Since I left tennis, I feel really free and I have plenty of time to do whatever I want. I can spend time with my kids, play golf or go to the gym at my own pace, which is really nice and I didn’t expect that. I expected that I would find retirement hard, I expected that I would miss tennis a lot and I expected that I would want to get back on the courts. So far it’s been the opposite of what I thought.”

Murray made a name for himself by winning his first Grand Slam at the 2012 US Open. Then, in 2013, his historic victory at Wimbledon saw Britain end a 77-year wait for a men’s Wimbledon champion. He won Wimbledon again in 2016, beating Novak Djokovic in the final. He’s a big name.
