Friedkin Considering Sarri for Everton’s Head Coach Position

Everton’s new owner, Dan Friedkin, is planning to bring Maurizio Sarri in as head coach for the club, which is going through tough times in the Premier League.

Dan Friedkin, who recently took over Everton, is evaluating hiring Sarri as the club’s new head coach. The American billionaire, who is also the president of Roma, announced his takeover of Everton earlier this week, and according to a recent report from Il Corriere dello Sport, he is planning a swift change for the team currently sitting in 19th place on the Premier League table.

The Roma-based newspaper claims that Friedkin is considering appointing Sarri, the former coach of Lazio, Juventus, and Napoli, at Goodison Park.

Sarri, who won the UEFA Europa League with Chelsea in 2019, has been without a club since resigning from Lazio in March 2023, and he has stated his desire to return to coaching before January.

Sarri’s First Move Is Clear

Friedkin aims to stop Everton’s poor run by bringing Sarri in charge. In a recent interview, Sarri expressed his desire to return to coaching when he finds a suitable project.

Sarri is also set to bring along fitness coach Daniele Tognaccini to Everton. The Italian tactician and Tognaccini previously worked together at Juventus, and Tognaccini is known as one of Italy’s most recognized fitness coaches, having made a name for himself in the sports world, particularly by establishing MilanLab in the 1990s.

Friedkin’s move has generated significant excitement among Everton fans. The club, looking to escape the relegation zone in the Premier League, hopes to bounce back with Sarri’s experience.
