Željko Obradović: “I Spent the Best Years of My Career at Panathinaikos”

Partizan coach Željko Obradović spoke about his time at Panathinaikos…

In the final match of the 6th Pavlos Giannakopoulos tournament, Partizan, coached by Obradović, defeated Panathinaikos 75-64.

After the game, Obradović shared his thoughts with ERT cameras, expressing how much he was affected by the atmosphere created by Panathinaikos fans at the Panathenaic Stadium.

The experienced coach said, “I want to congratulate Dimitris Giannakopoulos and everyone working at the Panathinaikos organization. There was an extraordinary, wonderful atmosphere. It was truly a historic day.”

Sharing his feelings about the Giannakopoulos family, Obradović stated, “I have very strong emotions related to the Giannakopoulos family; you know how I feel. I spent the best years of my career at Panathinaikos. He was a wonderful man.”

Finally, regarding the upcoming EuroLeague season starting in 10 days, Obradović added, “We are a newly formed team. We made many mistakes today. We want to be fully prepared before the EuroLeague season starts.”
