Marquez completes first laps in Barcelona test with factory Ducati

The Spaniard took to the track this morning at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya to test next year’s GP25 bike.

Marquez completed four laps in the short run, recording a 1:41.648 on his first fast lap and a 1:40.783 on his next lap. After his third lap, Marquez returned to the pits and gave his feedback to the Ducati engineers. Marquez

took to the track on a red motorcycle with no branding, and only included his personal sponsors on his racing overalls.

“There are a few innovations, including a new engine and chassis. Marc will go straight to the track with the new bike, while Pecco will try the ’24 model first and then continue with the ’25 model,” Ducati team manager Davide Tardozzi told Sky Italy.

The new MotoGP champion Jorge Martin tested the Aprilia RS-GP for the first time. Martin, who took to the track on an unbranded, carbon fiber-covered motorcycle, wore a gold-colored helmet with the words “MotoGP Champion” written on it. He improved his lap time from 1:45.117 to 1:41.964 during the seven-lap test.

Aprilia said it had not yet decided what number Martin will race with in 2025. Alex Marquez, who signed a new two-year deal with Gresini, was the fastest at the start with a time of 1:40.006.
