Norris: “I Need to Adapt to Verstappen’s ‘Racing Style’”

Lando Norris stated that he needs to make adjustments in his racing approach following his battle with Max Verstappen at COTA.

The most controversial moment of the America Grand Prix came when Norris attempted an overtake on Verstappen down the back straight, passing him before the braking zone at Turn 12. Verstappen, who braked later than Norris, moved to the inside, causing both drivers to go off track. Norris received a five-second penalty for not giving up his position as he maintained his momentum outside while passing through the escape area.

In the week following the incident, Norris expressed that he needs to change his approach when racing against Verstappen.

When asked if he needs to be more aggressive during battles, Norris replied, “That’s not an easy answer.”

Norris: “I Need to Make Some Changes to Adapt Better”

“I think I need to make some changes to adapt better, but I don’t believe everything I did was wrong,” Norris stated.

“In the end, I need to beat Verstappen, and for that, I have to change some small things. Sometimes that might mean being more aggressive, but I’ll do what I believe is right.”

“Max is really good at what he does; he’s probably the best in the world.”

“So, it’s not going to be easy to compete when I’m facing the best in the world,” he added.
