Patrick Vieira Reportedly a Finalist for Atlanta United Head Coaching Job

Former Arsenal midfielder and experienced manager Patrick Vieira is reportedly among the finalists to take over the head coaching role at Atlanta United. According to GiveMeSport‘s Tom Bogert, Vieira is being strongly considered for the position with the MLS Eastern Conference club, which has been without a permanent head coach for several months.

A Return to MLS?

Vieira, who has been out of employment for four months following his stint with Strasbourg in Ligue 1, is no stranger to Major League Soccer. He previously coached New York City FC (NYCFC), where he enjoyed a successful tenure. In his first season, he led NYCFC to an Eastern Conference semifinal appearance, followed by consecutive top-four finishes in the following campaigns. His success in MLS makes him a compelling candidate to take over Atlanta United.

Coaching Experience Across Three Countries

In addition to his time in MLS, Vieira has coached in England and France, accumulating nearly 10 years of managerial experience. His career has seen highs and lows, including a brief tenure in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg and links to the USMNT head coaching role last summer.

If selected, Vieira would bring a wealth of knowledge from his time in various leagues, and Atlanta United fans will be hopeful that his experience can steer the club toward success.
