Piastri: “Even Though We Did a Good Job, Things Can Change Quickly in the Championship”

Oscar Piastri says McLaren must keep in mind how easily they could lose their lead in the championship standings.

After Lando Norris claimed victory and Piastri finished third in the Singapore Grand Prix, McLaren extended their lead over Red Bull to 41 points. Max Verstappen finished second.

Piastri commented on the team’s lead in the championship: “Clearly, the trajectory in the Constructors’ Championship has been heading in the right direction for a long time.”

“We have a fast car underneath us, and Lando and I are consistently scoring good points.”

“I feel like we’ve done a great job as a team, but we must remember how quickly things can turn around.”

Starting from fifth, Piastri drove well to secure a podium finish at Marina Bay, though he was unable to catch Verstappen after settling into third place.

“Saturday wasn’t ideal, but the goal in the race was to get onto the podium.”

“We lost too much time behind the Mercedes early on, so this was the best we could do.”
