Aykut Kocaman made striking statements about his return to Fenerbahce.

THE RED LINES CAN BEND WHEN FENERBAHCE CALLS
In his interview with HT Spor, Aykut Kocaman said: “You have red lines, but when Fenerbahce calls, I’ve seen many times how those lines can bend. How do you feel when you get a call from Fenerbahce?” He responded with the following:
“This is Turkey… These clubs are very important institutions. They are places with incredible power that have elevated the people within them to very important positions. Fenerbahce, Galatasaray, and Besiktas are all very important places. When someone is asked to come when needed at these clubs, they go. There’s no other option.”

A SENSE OF DUTY
“The feeling here is that if help is needed, everyone — be it a Galatasaray fan or a Besiktas fan — would do everything they can to help. This is just my humble feeling.”

WHY NOT ME?
“I was away from Fenerbahce for six years. During those six years, there were many coaching crises. I’m not saying I should have been there. Coaches were sought from all over the world, yet my name was never mentioned as an option. I repeat, I have no expectations, but I’m trying to explain a situation. It’s not about asking, ‘Why not me?’ I don’t have the right to ask that question. Those who were in charge at the time would give the answer. I don’t have to be the one, but if I can’t even be an option with this CV, that’s a situation.”

8-POINT GAP
“There is now an 8-point gap, and Fenerbahce must string together a serious winning streak from this point. The players’ desire seems to have diminished. Fenerbahce is at a very critical turning point right now. If they can stay in the race while passing this turning point, they’ll stay in the race until the final week. But this turning point looks a bit more dangerous than last year.”

I DON’T SEE MOURINHO AS HIGHLY CONFIDENT
“Foreign coaches who come here tend to see themselves above everyone else and think it’s easy. Then, when they encounter the challenges here, they hit a wall. Right now, I don’t see Jose Mourinho’s body language as confident as it was when he first arrived. He doesn’t look very healthy at the moment.”
