Bruno Fernandes Calls Red Card Drama ‘One of the Hardest’ Moments

Having been awarded two red cards in consecutive games, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has talked up what he views as one of the “hardest” times of his career.

Receiving a red card last weekend’s 3-0 loss to Tottenham in the Premier League dealt the Portugal international his first setback. Though the card was ultimately reversed, Fernandes was dismissed just days after in the Europa League from a 3-3 draw against Porto. The thirty-year-old midfielder has lately expressed on social media about the difficult circumstances he is experiencing both personally and as part of the club.

Fernandes wrote on Instagram expressing his ideas:

“Tough moment as a team and personally for me, among the toughest.” Nearly five years with the club with ups and downs, good and bad times. Personally, I have always experienced difficulties and hardships during my career; something that has never happened is that I conceal myself from obligations under trying circumstances or go quiet. Though most of you United supporters would be bored with it and I know it sounds trite, nobody is more dissatisfied than me with my own moment. I value all of you that sent good messages of trust in the team and me even during this period.”
