Kylian Mbappe has faced sharp criticism over his alleged transfer demands at PSG in 2022, with the World Cup winner being told he is not acting like a “great player.” Mbappe, who parted ways with Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024 after his contract expired, had long been linked with a move to Real Madrid. Former France international and 1998 World Cup winner Christophe Dugarry voiced his concerns about Mbappe’s conduct during an appearance on Rothen s’enflamme: “Mbappe almost signed for Liverpool because he didn’t have the players he wanted at PSG. He was promised Lewandowski and Silva, but when that didn’t happen, he was ready to leave for Liverpool.

“But what is that? Dude, are you a player, coach, sporting director, or president? What are you? I’ve never seen anything like that. I’ve played with great players, I’ve seen their behavior, and I’ve never seen guys act this way.”
