Paris Olympics surpass Premier League in brand value! NFL remains at the top…

The Paris Olympic Games, with a brand value of $11.4 billion, have surpassed the Premier League to become the second most valuable sports organization. The National Football League (NFL) holds the top position with a brand value of $24 billion.

According to a report by Brand Finance, the brand value of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games has reached $11.4 billion. The 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games, held under the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic, had a value of $8.3 billion. Thus, the brand value of the Paris Olympics has increased by 37.3% compared to the Tokyo Games.

NFL REMAINS AT THE TOP!

The Paris Olympics have overtaken England’s Premier League, one of the world’s most-watched sports organizations. The Premier League holds a brand value of $9.9 billion, while the NBA, the U.S. basketball league, has a brand value of $8.9 billion.

The only sports league more valuable than the Paris Olympics is the NFL, which holds the top spot with a brand value of $24 billion, according to Brand Finance.

New records expected at the Los Angeles Olympics

Around $4.3 billion of the Paris Olympics’ brand value comes from national Olympic committees, while $7.1 billion comes from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

Broadcast rights and sponsorships are the largest contributors to brand value, while ticket revenues generate the least. Organizers have focused more on accessibility rather than profit when it comes to ticket sales.

An official statement from the Olympic Committee highlighted that the Paris Games have set a new record with 9.53 million tickets sold. This surpasses the previous record of 8.3 million tickets sold during the 1996 Atlanta Games in the U.S., marking the first time in 28 years that over 9 million tickets have been sold.

It’s also expected that the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games could break new records in terms of revenue, sponsorships, and brand value.
