Sarina Wiegman Worried Before Germany Match

As she gets ready for the much awaited friendly match against Germany, England manager Sarina Wiegman has acknowledged that the breadth of skill in her defensive options is giving her a “headache.” Although Lotte Wubben-Moy will miss out due to injury, Wiegman has a plenty of alternatives in center defense with key players like Millie Bright, Alex Greenwood, Maya Le Tissier, and Leah Williamson all healthy and available.

“Centre-back is absolutely a headache because they are all really good and really competing, but they are headaches I want to have. We want to try things, everyone wants minutes, and ideally at the end of the year, we have a ton of data.”

As England continues to prepare for upcoming competitions, Wiegman’s selection choices will be critical against a “very powerful” German team, offering a great chance to test combinations and tactical adaptability.
