Beşiktaş Pursues Mario Rui and James Tavernier to Bolster Squad

Beşiktaş Eyes Mario Rui and James Tavernier for Squad Strengthening

Beşiktaş continues its transfer efforts, with three key players being monitored by the club. Currently, the Black Eagles have limited options at left-back, relying solely on Arthur Masuaku. To address this, the club has set its sights on Napoli’s 33-year-old Portuguese left-back, Mario Rui, and is in the final stages of negotiations.

Beşiktaş is exploring a loan deal for Rui, who is under contract with Napoli until 2026. With this season’s successful Portuguese transfers, Beşiktaş aims to add Rui to their squad, potentially sending either Daniel Amartey or Jean Onana out to accommodate the signing. While Mario Rui had previously been offered to Başakşehir and Fenerbahçe, both clubs passed on the opportunity, making Beşiktaş the frontrunner.

Meanwhile, rumours surrounding Rangers’ right-back James Tavernier, who has been linked with Beşiktaş, have resurfaced after Rangers’ 3-0 loss to Celtic. However, it remains uncertain whether Rangers will let go of the experienced player without securing a replacement.
