Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber Set Unwanted Premier League Record in Arsenal’s Draw Against Manchester City

Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber found themselves making an unwanted mark in Premier League history during Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Manchester City. Despite Arsenal’s resilient performance, both Havertz and Timber completed zero passes in the match, a rare and unfortunate feat. According to OptaJoe, this is the first time since the 2003-04 season that an outfield player has failed to complete a single pass while playing more than 89 minutes in a Premier League match.

Mikel Arteta’s side looked set to overtake City at the top of the table, leading 2-1 deep into injury time. However, John Stones’ last-minute equalizer ensured that Manchester City retained their position at the summit of the Premier League.

The Gunners will have an opportunity to regain form in their upcoming Carabao Cup match against League One side Bolton on Wednesday, September 25.
