Tümer Metin’s Comments on Osimhen: Despite Other Opinions…

The 22nd Balaban – Theory Handicap 3-Cushion Billiards Tournament took place today, hosted by BilardoMax and world champion billiards player Semih Saygıner. The tournament featured notable participants such as Belgian player Frederic Caudron, who holds 12 world, 16 European championships, and 21 World Cup victories, World Champion Tayfun Taşdemir, World Cup winner Adnan Yüksel, youth world and European Champion Burak Haşhaş, and former national footballer Tümer Metin. Before the matches, Tümer Metin spoke to Demirören News Agency (DHA).

‘IT’S NOT EASY FOR PROFESSIONAL AND AMATEUR PLAYERS TO COME TOGETHER LIKE THIS’

Expressing his enjoyment of the event, Tümer Metin said, “It’s a very enjoyable organization. This is the 22nd edition. It’s become an important tradition. The significance lies in having both professional and amateur players competing around the same table. We are very thankful to everyone involved, especially İlhan Aydın, the Max family, and Murat Tüzül. I’ve witnessed their efforts firsthand; they put in a lot of thought, focused intensely, and care deeply about this event. Naturally, I believe they are reaping the rewards of their hard work. It’s a very enjoyable organization. Being at the table and part of the competition, sharing the same atmosphere with a world champion, is not something easily experienced. Nowhere else in the world do professional and amateur players come together so easily. We are happy and enjoying ourselves. It’s going to be a fun day,” he added.

‘OSIMHEN IS A BIG NAME’

Tümer Metin also commented on the league, saying, “I wish everyone the best. The transfer window is open until September 13th. This is the prime time for last-minute transfers. Everyone is waiting at the moment. Osimhen is a big name. Even though there have been different opinions from various quarters, I believe he is a huge figure in terms of his career. Let’s see how he adapts to our league, how he fits into Galatasaray, and how that process unfolds. There’s no doubt that this season will be intense and competitive,” he concluded.
