Fenerbahce Beko wins the derby

In the second week of the EuroLeague, Fenerbahce Beko defeated Anadolu Efes 83-78 away, achieving 2 wins in 2 games. Anadolu Efes hosted Fenerbahce Beko in the Turkish derby at the Basketball Development Center.

The match started with both teams scoring and strong defense, and the first quarter was highly competitive, ending with a 13-13 tie in the last 4 minutes. After Anadolu Efes’s effective player Oturu went to the bench, Fenerbahce activated Colson, who scored 14 points, and closed the first quarter ahead 27-21.

Starting the second quarter with effective defense and scoring, Fenerbahce allowed only 2 points in the first 5 minutes, extending their lead to 15 points. Despite Anadolu Efes’s attempts to be effective offensively, the yellow-blue team maintained their defensive resistance and went into halftime leading 46-37.

In the second half, Anadolu Efes struggled to score in the first 3 minutes, allowing Fenerbahce Beko to increase the lead to 17 points. As the quarter progressed, the navy-blue and white team started to be effective offensively, reducing the deficit and entering the last 3 minutes trailing 48-56 by 8 points.

Bryant and Biberovic were ejected
With 1:11 remaining in the third quarter, Tarık Biberovic from Fenerbahce Beko and Elijah Bryant from Anadolu Efes began throwing punches after a push under the basket. The referees stopped the game and, after reviewing the situation, disqualified both players. The period continued, ending with Fenerbahce leading 60-51.

In the final quarter, Anadolu Efes began to cut into the lead at times, but Fenerbahce managed to keep the difference above 10 points until the end of the period. Especially in the last 4 minutes, Anadolu Efes became more effective, scoring consecutively and managing to tie the game at 74-74 with 2 minutes remaining. As the game entered the last minute, Guduric’s three-pointer gave Fenerbahce some breathing room, extending the lead to 4 points. The final 30 seconds were played with mutual baskets, and Fenerbahce Beko emerged victorious from the challenging match with an 83-78 win.
