EURO 2028 Stadium Uncertainty

Stadium Uncertainty Ahead of EURO 2028: “Chances Are Diminishing Day by Day”

Renovation work at Casement Park in Northern Ireland, one of the proposed venues for the 2028 European Football Championship, has yet to begin, raising concerns about its readiness for the tournament, which is less than four years away.

Casement Park, one of the 10 stadiums included in the bid to host EURO 2028 across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, remains in a state of uncertainty. According to a report by the BBC, legal and financial issues have delayed the renovation of the stadium, which has been unused since 2013. With time running out, the likelihood of Casement Park hosting matches is decreasing rapidly.

Casement Park is Northern Ireland’s only nominated stadium for the tournament, adding pressure to resolve the issues and get the renovation underway.
