Mercedes: “There are very few tracks left that are suitable for our car”

Reflecting on the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Wolff explained the difficulties Mercedes faced, particularly with Lewis Hamilton, who had to start from the pit lane due to an engine change. As predicted, Hamilton struggled in Baku’s narrow layout, where overtaking is tough, and tire overheating became an issue as soon as he approached rivals.

Wolff acknowledged the learning gained from the race but pointed out that the upcoming circuits may not play to Mercedes’ strengths. Historically, Mercedes has performed well at tracks like Barcelona, Silverstone, and Spa, but for the remainder of the season, he highlighted Austin and Brazil as potential strongholds for the team. However, the majority of the remaining tracks don’t align well with their car’s characteristics.
